Tsunami DQ, one of our products, controls many types of aquatic growth such as duckweed, water hyacinth, pondweeds, and coontail. It is formulated for use with people, pets, wildlife, swimming, irrigation, and potable water.

Tsunami DQ controls many types of aquatic weed growth. For best results, make sure any repeat applications are within two weeks of the initial treatment.

This product is safe when used according to label directions. When treating excessive pond growth, it is always important to treat in sections to avoid rapid oxygen depletion. Tsunami DQ should be used for pond weeds, with a 14-day wait between applications and only treating a 1/2 or 1/3 of the pond at a time to recover oxygen levels.

Tsunami DQ is a contact herbicide, and the best results are achieved by spraying it over the top of the growth you are treating. The application rate is 2-8 quarts per surface acre, depending on the infestation and type of weed.

Pond weeds should be treated when they are actively growing, and water temperatures are above 60°F.

Our step-by-step pond maintenance program includes:

1. Pond Dye: Apply February-November to enhance the color of your pond or lake all year long.
2. Pond Bacteria: Apply February-November for early season treatment to safely and effectively break down muck and dead vegetation.
3. Algaecide: Apply April-September for existing filamentous and planktonic algae control, killing algae and maintaining water quality. Products include Crystal Plex, Copper Sulfate, Bloom Buster, and Green X.
4. Submerged Weed Control: Apply April-September for weed control, killing submerged weeds that are copper sulfate resistant.
5. Emerged Weed Control: Apply April-September for cattail control, killing emerged rooted weeds down to the root. Diquat formula kills surface and submerged weeds that are copper resistant, and Plex Mate can be used to enhance the effects when treating floating marginal weeds.
